When Diego and his new neighbors cross paths at a party they establish a relationship that will escalate and ultimately reveal a side of Diego that he had never known. Canadian architect and Harvard graduate Jennifer Luce established Luce et Studio in 1990 in San Diego, California. The studio focuses on innovative responses to design and architecture challenges at all scales. Passionate about research, new technologies, materials and a strong philosophy about art in architecture, the work defies classification and explores innovation. Luce et Studio is a collaborative group that combines skills in the disciplines of architecture, landscape, graphics and industrial design. Recent work is diverse in type and merges all disciplines within the scope of each program. One scale informs another and dialogue includes explorations of cross fertilization of ideas; living space to workspace to public space. In large-scale projects for Nissan Design America, Luce et Studio has defined the spatial and material experience for the corporation’s creative design teams. Concepts explored by the architectural team have corresponded with studies by the industrial designers. The result is multiple reading of spaces for a corporation that shares a commitment to the power of design. At Nissan Design America in La Jolla, California, and Detroit, Michigan, custom furniture and light fixtures merge with architecture and interiors to complete the narrative.
