In the summer of 2008, Brian Millman, Executive Chef of Uncommon Ground restaurant, shopped with Gene Honda at the Green City Market. He brought his purchases back to Uncommon Ground to create some delicious dishes.

Northside Copwatch- The police forcibly removed a very intoxicated man from the Vietnamese restaurant at 1120 W. Wilson. They put the man’s bag around his neck and he proceeds to fall down. One officer is not comfortable with being taped and advances towards the camera. When asked for his badge number the officer refuses. The police then leave the scene and shortly after the intoxicated man falls on the sidewalk. Copwatch follows up with the man and calls 911 to see that he is escorted to the hospital in an ambulance.

The old Baker’s Square turned breakfast cafe by the infamous Dick Portillo’s Restaurant Group. Honey-Jam Cafe has a beautiful decor that is something you will notice at first glance. The wait for a party of (3) was only 15 mins however went by quickly. Honey Jam is new and I think they are still in their learning stage but have great potential. Then menu is unique and well planned. The service a tad on the slow side but 100% friendly. We all enjoyed every bite with no leftovers. I intend on coming back for lunch because there is so much to try I need at least 2 more visits to give an accurate rating. Mr. Dick Portillo himself chatted with us sharing personal stories from his business ventures. I was all ears on this one!
