Kobe is innocent. If he wasn’t, the girl never would’ve agreed to drop the criminal charges.
Mediation was needed because she sued him for money in a civil court. First, the standard of proof is lowered, so in ‘her word vs. his word’ cases the jury tends to side with the girl. Physical evidence isn’t as essential as in a criminal case. Secondly, Kobe didn’t want the publicity of a drawn-out civil suit. He wanted to finish the matter quickly and privately, and put it behind him.

Even I am fans of Bryant but I believe something was happened and then need the mediation to resolve the case. Well, it is not affect what Bryant’s talent in basketball. The Championship is close but definitely not this year. Something that Bryant still need to be improved such as try more cooperate with teammate, try to believe teammate instead of blame or scold them. Garnett and Pierre and Allen obvious can do that this year.
