nopressure.ca 1 Bedroom & den condo in 1005 King West (DNA). Convenient location at King & Shaw. Streetcar and Starbucks just steps away! :) It’s a nice looking building with funky lighting in the hallways and good looking units. Strange is the washing machine in the bedroom closet. Hard to use it the ‘green way’ as you won’t be able to sleep while it’s doing it’s job! Go to www.NoPressure.ca for more condo videos! By the way…I don’t represent the seller of this condo.

Fish Market Sai Kung

*Sai Kung Town (traditional Chinese: 西貢市) or simply Sai Kung (西貢/西贡, Pinyin: Xigong) is a town on Sai Kung Peninsula, facing the Sai Kung Hoi (Inner Port Shelter), part of Sai Kung District in the New Territories, Hong Kong. Sai Kung is the centre of the surrounding villages, and hence the name may refer to the areas in its immediate surroundings.

Having evolved from a fishing village, it is a mecca for seafood lovers, locals and tourists alike. Visitors can stroll around the market centre of Sai Kung Town or explore the back lanes, visit the Tin Hau Temple, feast on seafood or enjoy different delicacies at Western-style pubs and restaurants. Sai Kung is home to a famous dessert restaurant called Honeymoon Dessert that brings in many visitors from all over Hong Kong and even from abroad.

Sai Kung Hoi is a fishing harbour and fishermen gather there. There is a typhoon shelter in the harbour protecting a marina, where some of the last remaining Tanka junks in Hong Kong are to be found. Many of these boats are now abandoned as homes with their former residents moving to land but they are still kept as pleasure boats by their owners. The are boats that you can hire for cuttlefish catching trips. A typical trip would last 3-hours, costing perhaps HKD500 for a group of five.

The development of the town has been remarkably restrained. There are few condominiums that rise above ten storeys. Before the relocation of the airport of Hong Kong from Kai Tak to Chep Lap Kok, the town was a popular residential area for airport staff from all over the world. The town, with its relatively clean air and slow pace of life, for Hong Kong, is still a popular place for many people of Hong Kong to live.

Chinese Food Made Easy/Be a Wok Star!!! www.chinghehuang.com thecookskitchen.com itunes.apple.com www.amazon.co.uk In Shanghai’s neighbouring region of Jiangsu, river fish and river prawns, as well as poultry, are cooked in vinegar. In this recipe, I have chosen to use scallops, which are widely available in Shanghai, coupled with some roasted ham. The result is a gorgeous smoky sweet dish that is so fragrant and cooks in less than a minute. This is a great dinner party dish that can be served together with a number of other dishes. Don’t underestimate it – as well as being really easy it is delicious with a capital D. Serves 2 Ingredients 175g/6oz raw scallops on the shell 2 tablespoons groundnut oil 1 tablespoon freshly grated root ginger 60g/2.5oz diced cooked roasted ham or diced unsmoked lardons 1 tablespoon Shaohsing rice wine or dry sherry 1 tablespoon Chinkiang black rice vinegar or balsamic vinegar 1/2 tablespoon light soy sauce 1 small handful of fresh coriander, leaves and stalks, finely chopped mixed exotic salad leaves, such as mizuna and red chard, to serve (optional) Method 1. Remove the scallops from their shells, then remove and discard the hard muscle on the side. Leave the coral on, if you like, or remove it. Trim and rinse the scallops and pat dry. 2. Heat a wok or pan over a high heat and add the groundnut oil. Add the ginger and stir-fry for a few seconds. 3. Add the scallops and ham or lardons and stir-fry for 30 seconds. Add the rice wine or sherry
